The eye spots on Ypthima sakra create the illusion of a larger animal, likely to startle or deter predators such as birds, rats, and other animals around us. Can it be Batesian mimicry, where a harmless organism resembles a harmful one? While it mimics a threat, it's not classic Batesian mimicry, but rather a form of startle defense or automimicry.
