Day 2: Dulha Ka Haldhi
(The Groom's Haldi Ceremony)
Jesus fuck we had so much to drink and smoke up last night and I went to bed like at 12 AM 😂 The morning rituals for the Groom start by sharp 7 AM.
I kept my alarm for 6 AM so that I could go take a dump and freshen up but yeah things didn’t really go according to my plan 😂
I was woken up to the sound of super loud trumpets and drums playing at the grooms house around 6:30 AM and thats when it hit me that boy oh boy I am late ASF 😭
I just knock on all of my friends door telling them to wake the fuck up we are super late and then I just picked up my towel and dashed into the washroom to freshen up.
Since this was the Grooms function we thankfully didn’t have to dress up LOL both me and Nikhil wore shorts and a T-Shirt and attended the Groom to be haldi ceremony.
There was some pooja at the guys home and some other ceremonies that took place first before they took him to the veranda to get him covered up in haldi 😂
Towards the end of the haldi ceremony the grooms high school class mates just poured buckets of milk, water, turmeric water all over him 😂 and i've captured it all so perfectly, you can see the entire ceremony in the video at the end of this post.
Post the ceremony breakfast was served, we had dosas and a vegetable gravy and we had sheera for dessert.
Once breakfast was done we had to go get changed for the wedding which was about to take place at a different venue near by. The close friends were all asked to were a Mundu and a shirt which is a basic South Indian outfit. I'm someone who dislikes wearing a mundu because it's not easy to wear one and it's too much of a struggle 😂 like one wrong step and you'll be standing in your underwear 🙂
The asked me to ask a Pandith (Priest) for help in wearing the mundu, I wanted to wear it over my shorts but the Pandith was like it'll look weird and he made me remove my freaking shorts in front of everyone ugghhh it was so embarrassing. I just standing there in my underwear in front of so many people while he drapes the mundu on me 🥲 never felt so embarrassed in my life.
After the brief humiliation we all left towards the wedding hall and damn there was about a 1000 guests there.
Ughh the ceremony was just beautiful and you guys can see that in tomorrow's post.
