Hello hiveans, today I dedicate my post to EMOJI which has made our social networking life easy and understanding. Sometimes we lack words to express our emotions which can be joy, sorrow, anger etc. A funny text message can be misinterpreted as an insult, or a normal text can be misunderstood as a sarcasm. Not all of us are great writers who can express their feelings through words in an elaborate way. This limitation of us can be overcomed by using EMOJI.

The word “emoji” is made up of two different words: 'e' for picture and ‘moji’ for character. They first become a mainstream concept in Japan, the country which gave us Anime and we are forever indebted to it. Emojis soon became popular throughout the world. The Smiley Company developed The Smiley Dictionary, which was launched in 2001 and people were allowed to insert smileys as text when sending emails and writing on a desktop computer. The smiley toolbar offered a variety of symbols and smileys and was used on platforms such as MSN Messenger. Modern day emoji is a combination of smileys from Yahoo, MSN and emoji characters from Japan.

We all are using emojis in our daily lives whether its facebook, whatsapp, or other social networking sites. They have made our emotions easier to convey. We use the laughing face emoji 😂 to convey that a particular message, photo etc is hilarious or angry face 😡 to express our anger. From the past to the present the characters used as emoji are also evolved. To represent the community equally the emojis are being built in that way for example: 🧕🏻 👩🏻‍🦰 🧑🏻‍👨🏻‍🦰 👱🏻‍♀️👍🏻 for white, 🧕🏽👩🏽‍🦰 🧑🏽‍👨🏽‍🦰 👱🏽‍♀️👍🏽 for brown, 🧕🏾 👩🏾‍🦰 🧑🏾‍ 👨🏾‍🦰 👱🏾‍♀️👍🏾 for black community. We can also represent food, objects, animals, activities etc through emojis. The technology is upgrading day by day so we may see an advancement in the character representation in future.

Although the official emoji day is on 17 July and I am creating this post a day late, what can I say I have to justify my name also 😅😅😅. I wanted that this day shouldn't go unnoticed so I created this post to appreciate something we use in our daily lives.
