Hello steemians, I am very happy to be back. On this voyage of yours to learn guitar, I need you to remember you just have to be focused. Truly a popular say insinuates that nothing comes easy but I tell you, little efforts might just be enough to reach your full potentials, so please don’t slack. With little effort, boom!!! You are finding things easy already.
Okay ! Lets talk about what we are dealing with today, a video is attached to this post so to get visual information necessary on the course of this voyage. However it is my first video, if I could not cover some essential points or some statement seem confusing to you, kindly feel free to ask question, am ready to answer you.
Guitar strings
Well, I do not think we have to beat about the bush in this post, some essential issues has been discussed comprehensively in my previous posts. Talking about guitar strings, I presume we all know what strings looks like. In appearance other strings are not significantly different from guitar strings, but in the actual sense guitar strings are different. They are made of metals in different sizes, the thickness of this strings corresponds with the pitch. The thicker ones sounds more bass-like and the more thin ones resonates high tones.
Guitar strings are numbered from 1 – 6 from the one with the higher pitch to the lower pitch, you can check the video for better insight on that. Also some letters are assigned to the strings in accordance to how they are tuned. The letters are in this order, E A D G B E from the thickest string i.e string 6 straight to 1st string. See the video to understand better. An effective way not to forget this letter’s order which I have tried with most of my students and it is working for them, which I also learnt from a great guitarist by the name Nate Savage. It goes thus, E-ddy, A-te, D-ynamite, G-ood, B-ye, E-ddy. You don’t need to cram EADGBE just know that little formula and you are good.
Frets
I want to liken fret board to your working space on guitar, this is where you determine how melodious a tune will be. The frets are located on the fret board , they are the spaces in between the demarcations on it. See the video for better understanding.
