Zim let his memories fade as he came back to the present and started back with their conviction "I have many more things I need to teach you but there will be time enough for that when we get back to the tower." At hearing this Ben really realized he was about to leave everything he had ever known and embark on a true adventure.
Ben decided now was probably a good time to ask some of the questions that had been going through his mind since this all began " So if this Prophecy about me has been around since the dawn of time how did this Heximose guy create it five thousand years ago?"
Zim thought about what Ben had asked and explained " there have been many prophecys about you through time. The first which no one knows who first foretold was that a man would be born of modest means and would be the savior of the world."
Ben couldn't imagine being the savior of the world and expressed as much saying " How is it that I am to be the savior of the world? What am I supposed to save it from?"
Zim wasn't sure if Ben was ready to hear the truth of what the prophesy ment but he thought he had a right to know so he began to explain " You may not know this but a faction from the tower has broken away from the tower to practice magic that has been forbidden since the time of Heximose. You see the reason we wizards are able to live so long is through the manipulation of time through the use of magic. We do however still die just like everyone else but back in Heximose's time another great wizard though he had solved the riddle of life and death. He had actually found a way to communicate with the keeper of souls in the underworld."
Zim paused to allow what he had just said to sink in. Upon realizing Ben was seeing the magnitude of the situation he continued " You know that they call the keeper of souls the great deceiver and for good reason. His goal is to have all the souls of the living as well as their dead. And to that end he will do anything make any promise and even allow some people to live forever. Or so he says.
Ben had herd the keeper called the great deciever before but had never given it much thought until now so he asked "What is this faction that left the tower planning on doing for the keeper"
Zim knew the shock he felt at hearing their plans and almost couldn't bear to speak of it but he knew Ben needed to know if he were to be able to save the world of the living so he explained " Thay plan on releasing the keeper from the underworld" Zim's voice trailed of as he tried to keep his composure
"But the creator bound the keeper to the underworld in the beginning of time." Ben said incredulously
Zim explained " That is not entirely true. It is true that the creator bound the keeper to the underworld but it was not in the beginning of time. There was a time that the keeper was a great wizard here on earth. A time before there was any such thing as death. Few know anything about this time because it was so long ago" Zim paused agen because he knew he was about to divulge a secret from the tower that nobody outside the tower had ever heard.
"You see the keeper had a name when he walked the earth as a wizard it was Dragon and he was the the one who built the tower of the dragons and started the order. That was in a time when there were no sir names because everyone in existence was brought into being by the creator himself. Wizard were here to keep peace they served the people and worked as the hand of the creator here on earth. Dragon was the most powerful of all the wizards and kind of their leader although not officially. He did a many great things and was well beloved by everyone. But he wanted more. He didn't just want to be loved he wanted to be revered." Zim couldn't believe he was telling someone uninitiated the true beginning of the order.
Zim realized he had to continue since he had started even if it was forbidden after all Ben would be initiated he was after all to become the savior of humanity "Dragon decided to be truly revered he had to have the power of the creator the power to bring life into the world. He tried to use his magic to create a new life but he didn't have the power of the creator to give it the spark of life. So he gathered up several other wizards and found a way to take their power by extinguishing their flame and taking it for his own. Once he had taken the power of almost half of all the wizards in the world he was able to bring life into the world but not on his own he used a woman as a vessel to incubate the life till it was strong enough to come into the world. He did this by mixing his spark and the woman's spark through magic and what you now call sex. By extinguishing the flames of the wizards he had created death and taken the power to create life."
Zim didn't know if he had enough in him to finish the story but he knew he had to so he continued "By the time this new life was ready to come into the world it had gotten the attention of the creator. Because the magic of bringing life into the world had been created and death had been created the creator had to make a place for the souls of the dead to go and that is where the underworld came from. Bringing life and death into existence started a cycle so as not to have the world overrun by humans the creator made it so everyone would eventually die and go to the underworld to make room for the new people being born. And as a punishment for having changed the world the creator had envisioned the creator locked Dragon in the underworld to become the keeper.
Ben realized that Zim looked exhausted and thought if they were to leave for the tower in the morning sleeping might not be such a bad idea. Ben told Zim as much and Zim agreed. Ben got out his old bedroll and put it by the heart told Zim he could have the bed which Zim was all to happy to accept they said goodnight. Zim was asleep in no time flat but Ben couldn't help but run through all he had been through in such a short period of time. Finally Ben's mind settled and Ben went to sleep as well.
