Seeing this video this morning, I was thinking what fun it would be for children to make a box of some of their possessions that they treasure.
Can you imagine what fun it will be for a class? They can then wait for a long time; some might even forget what they put in there as it is part of life to forget some things.
If each child bring something and put it in the box they can have a reunion say 20 years later and find out what everyone put in the box.
It is important to remember to seal this box very well so that it could be kept safe for a long time. They should know it is a time capsule.
We as old people have had many reunions even after 50 years. I think it could be wonderful for a group going to the reunion and dig out this treasure. Remember to put a photo in their of all the children, as that would be fun to see how they have changed.
It is always fun to open a treasure. I found a video on you tube that showed how an old man opened a treasure from his childhood home and after many years he pulled on a string to reveal the treasure as he remembered his father hiding the treasures in the roof.
After he hid it they moved away as it was the Second World War and they had to leave their house.
It is incredible that when he went back and asked if he could look in the house. When he drew at a piece of string all was revealed and no one had found it at all.
Just think how much fun it could be for children at school to do the same and then with a reunion open it up.
It would bring so many memories back.
We are so inclined just to move on and forget what happened a long time ago.
When you get older, these things can really bring some sweet childhood memories back.
It is not always the new things in life that mean something to you; you can think back to your childhood days and be with long lost friends that went to school with you.
I think this is such a nice way to teach children how to be happy to save and look after some of their things.
It can become a very interesting project at school.
I would love if we had done that and could go back now and find something that I had put away for such a long time.
Reunions are such fun as you can find out what had happened to your friends that you might have lost contact with, and then looking at the things you had put away such a long time ago.
School projects seem to be the same all the time and this seems one that we can do with the children and enjoy in years to come.
