I stand apart, a solitary figure
Amongst the throngs of laughter and delight
I strive to blend in, to utter words that trigger
A sense of belonging, yet my efforts feel trite

I observe the close-knit bonds that they share
Built on common ground and cherished memories
But I am an outsider, a lonely wanderer
In this circle where all others flourish with ease

I try to join the conversation, but my voice
Falls short, and my confidence begins to wane
I yearn to be a part of this, to make a choice
To laugh and bond, to feel part of the scene

My heart aches with the longing for connection
To be embraced and accepted, to be included
But instead, I am left with a sense of rejection
An outcast, forever feeling secluded

Though I keep my head held high and remain strong
Inside, I am struggling, all alone

I watch as they create moments to treasure
While I am but a spectator of their joy
I seek to break down these invisible barriers
To be a member of their clique, to be a part of their ploy

But it seems unattainable, so I smile and pretend
That everything is alright
But deep down, my heart yearns for something more
A place where I truly belong and find my light

I know that I may never find my niche
But that's okay, I'll create my own space
Where I'll be embraced, loved, and accepted without a glitch
With open arms, I'll find my community
Where I truly belong, and happiness is key.
