We are back again with another fantasy centric article for Week 7 of the NFL season. If you haven't already, please check out and give a like to my QB specific article posted earlier this morning. No lie, the RB position this week sucks. There is Todd Gurleys and some very obvious chalk plays. In any case, let's get into Week 7's RB plays.
Last week in general wasn't great for my picks in DFS. We hit on some running backs but completely missed on others. We are going to be turning it around this week and winning some real cash.
Just an FYI for this weekends set of articles. I will be traveling most of the week and caught up in a wedding. For that reason, these articles will still have my favorite plays listed but the analysis will be brief and limited. In fact, some of these articles may come out via the Partiko App, in which case they may look slightly different. Trust that I have still put in the work to choose my plays but just don't have the time to sit down and write a 4 separate, 1-2 hour articles as the week winds down. With that being said, here are my top plays at the running back position for Week 7. Enjoy, upvote, and comment on your weekly outlook.
RUNNING BACKS
Todd Gurleys - LA Rams
$9,800 / at SF / LA - 9.5
For me, it's simple this week. If you can spend up, which shouldn't be difficult to accomplish, Gurley has to be your guy. Regardless of price, he continues to hit value. Although I don't like to recommend RBs on the road, the Rams are 9.5 point favorites which should ensure Gurley gets plenty of carries. Even still, it's Gurley who gets it done every single week. Safest option without question at the RB position.
Nick Chubb - Cleveland Browns
$3,600 / at TB / CLE + 3.5
100% will be the chalkiest DFS play this weekend. Carlos Hyde was just traded to Jacksonville leaving Chubb as the work house or at very least early down back in Cleveland. The fact of the matter is he should get 15-20 touches at almost bare minimum on DFS sites. Couple that with the fact Tampa's defense sucks and the Browns should be scoring a lot and you have an easy pick in Chubb this weekend.
LeSean McCoy - Buffalo Bills
$5,600 / at IND / BUF + 7.5
This pick is solid evidence of how bad the RB position sucks this weekend. I'm pretty much completely against McCoy in all fantasy formats this year but he ends up on my short list this weekend. It's not a typical fantasy RB recommendation as the Bills are heavy underdogs on the road, something that screams avoiding the teams back. However, we don't have many options this weekend. The Bills are cycling QBs at the moment and I'm sure they just want to feed McCoy and the run. More so, if and when they go pass heavy, McCoy usage remains high. He is arguably their best receiver asset so in PPR he should have plenty of opportunity regardless of score or game flow. At just $5,600, I'm going to bite the bullet and play McCoy.
Kerryon Johnson - Detroit Lions
$4,500 / at MIA / DET - 3
You can see the trend this week is to play cheap RBs and Johnson fits that bill. Johnson hasn't gotten much opportunity which is frustrating because when he gets chances he looks good. Last week Johnson shined for Detroit and I suspect they will continue to involve him more and more. Their pass catching back Reddick is out this week, leaving more work on the table for Johnson. At just $4,500 I think Johnson hits value fairly easy.
OTHER CONSIDERATIONS
Tarik Cohen - $5,100 - Bears
Sony Michel - $5,500 - Patriots
