This is really something interesting event to participate. It always happens on the first of every single month. This is called Hive power up day. Today I decided to power up 10% of my current HP.
My current HP is 598 HP so I will power up 60 HP in one go. After power up it becomes 658 HP.
The following is the proof of my powerup.
I also participate in the 1st January. I skipped for February and this is the second power up month for me.
Sady my powerup is not still reflected on the Hivestats.io
But it is reflected on the Peakd.com. I think Hivestats.io needs to bit more time to reflect.
Actually there are three benefits you can get from powering up your HP.
- Strengthen your influence on the blockchain with stronger votes on content, proposals and witnesses.
- Earn more curation rewards. The more Hive Power you have, the more you can potentially earn back
- Earn "interest" by holding Hive Power. You will also earn HIVE passively at about 3% per year of what you currently have powered up so the more HIVE you have, the more you can earn from just holding!
