My friend Gabrielle and I were talking about backpacking for years..
Scotland seemed the perfect place to go!
We asked googleflights when we should go (cheapskates..) and I figured out some great places where we should go. When it was almost time to go we packed our backpacks and... rented a car. Not exactly what we had in mind when we talked about backpacking, but we wanted to see a lot in a short amount of time!

In may 2017 we flew to Edinburgh. What a beautiful city!!

We were so lucky. The sun was shining all the time!!!
We were told it was the first day of 2017 you didn't have to wear a jacket!
We booked a tour to see the underground Vaults. That was so interesting and spooky.. (not as spooky as my face, but still..)

After 2 days in Edinburgh we drove to Glencoe. Easy said but, those people are driving on the wrong side of the road!
The vieuws from the car were stunning!

We booked an Airbnb nearby Glencoe.

When we went to our room we saw 4 big bikers sitting on our beds saying 'Hi!' We closed the door immediately and went to the little reception to tell that they made a mistake. It turned out I forgot to book a room for 2 or just for ladies. Haha oops! But the nice man offered us a mixed room so we were happy to sleep in a room with another couple, some hikers en a lot of sweaty stinky boots..
That night we walked to Glencoe.

The next day we drove to Fort William and Ben Nevis. That is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been..
I'll show you in a couple of days in part 2 of my trip to Scotland!

Need to fix some dinner now. #Lifeofamom :)
