The Corona Virus otherwise known as COVID19 which experts say is another strain of the SARS Virus started out in Wuhan in China in the year 2019 hence the name COVID19. This particular strain of the virus seem to have affinity for mucous membranes prefers to establish its territory in lungs of Man. The Virus as now is know to be transmitted by contact although some research also suggest that it may be airborne too the WHO has not come to confirm any such information thus we would stick with what comes from the WHO.

How Viruses Infect
Viruses are the simplest structures possessing a strand or two of nucleic acids either RNA or DNA and having a protein coat. They cannot grow or reproduce on their own hence to survive or continue to thrive they require a host, a living to invade and colonized and while some may be harmless others can be very obnoxious like the corona virus and ebola. After gaining access into a cell viruses change the coding for which the cell reproduce such that all other cell divisions or reproductions that may arise as a result of mitosis would result in the creation of a new virus, the new virus is then release from the cell taking a part of the cell membrane to encapsulate it, thus the more new viruses are produced the more the cells shrinkage and losses function until it completely dies off. The new viruses leaving the cell makes its way into the surrounding cells and start the whole process again.

Drugs produced focus on the various stages of the virus infection with the goal of halting or preventing replication of the virus from the infected cells into the others. The corona Virus is known to have affinity for mucous membrane and the lungs hence the campaign of protecting the face. The organs and spaces within the skull have interconnections such that should the virus find its way into any of the compartments it could easily get to the others until in eventually get to the throat, through the windpipe and into the lungs.

At the nasal part of the eye is a small hole call the punctum where tears drain into the nasal cavity and into mouth and throat. When one touches the eye with an infected and or finger the virus is able to pass through this hole into nasal region where it may be inhaled through the trachea into the lungs. In the event of touching you nose this similar situation may also happen whereas the same thing may happen should it get into the mouth. The Good News however is that it may not be able to survive the Hydrochloric Acid in the stomach should it manage to escape the trachea. The ear has a long channel called the eustachian tube which connects it to the throat thus touching the ear with an infected hand could also lead to an infection. The virus is known to have an incubation period of 14 days after which patient may start to show signs and symptoms of the infection, it is also after this period that the virus may be detectable in testing. Samples for testing may be taken from the tip of the tongue, the nose and even the stool of some patients. The Virus kills by causing fibrosis of the lungs deteriorating it until the point where breathing becomes very difficult, at this stage patients are put on ventilators to support their breathing, the patients end up dying from suffocation.

How to Protect Yourself
It is not new as the campaign message continues to be propagated, staying at home and avoiding social contact is the best option to protecting yourself, in the event one cannot stay at home and has to move outside, it becomes important that one sanitizes the hand with alcohol based sanitizers of atleast 70%, this is able to remove the protein coat of the virus and kill the virus, frequent hand washing when possible is also advised as it also kills the virus. Using nose masks may be very beneficial as it keeps one from touching the nose or face, one may however have to make a conscious effort not to be touching the eyes without sanitizing the hand, at best avoid it completely, if you cannot then we would advise you get spectacles from your optometrist to protect your eyes. You may have just saved yourself from infection from a drop of saliva that may have gotten access to any of these entrance or channels.
