Hello Hello internet people, how are you? Today I want to share with you what was my last weekend at my cousins' party, both of them have their birthday this month, one on the 12th and the other on the 15th, so on Saturday the 15th we gathered at one of them's house to celebrate. For us it was a doubly special date because it was also the birthday of our grandfather who passed away already in 2015, but anyway we still remember him and carry him in our hearts.
Hola Hola gente de internet 驴C贸mo est谩n? hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi fin de semana pasado en la fiesta de mis primas, ambas cumplen a帽o en este mes, una el d铆a 12 y la otra el 15, as铆 que el s谩bado 15 nos reunimos en casa de una de ellas para celebrar. Para nosotros era una fecha doblemente especial porque tambi茅n era la fecha de cumplea帽os de nuestro abuelo quien falleci贸 ya en el a帽o 2015, pero de todos modos igualmente lo recordamos y lo llevamos en nuestro coraz贸n.
Other of my cousins and I had to do the decoration, and look I had no idea how to do it, so don't judge me 馃槃 but I started by covering a small internal window on this wall with silver paper, this way I gave the illusion that the wall is lis. On top of that paper we would already put the other decorations.
A otras de mis primas y a mi nos toc贸 hacer la decoraci贸n, y miren que yo no ten铆a idea de como hacerla, as铆 que no me juzguen 馃槃 pero inici茅 tapando una peque帽a ventana interna que hay en esta pared con papel plateado, de esta forma daba la ilusi贸n de que la pared es lis. Sobre ese papel ya pondr铆amos las dem谩s decoraciones.
We had a lot of material at our disposal, it was too much and I didn't know if it would all fit in that small space, but we would do our best, but on that table there were balloons of flowers, hearts, letters, in short, there was everything, then I made a mess with the balloons 馃槃 but my uncle came to the rescue and helped me to locate them. We were laughing a lot because my uncle is very funny, he can't talk without telling a joke or doing something funny.
Ten铆amos a nuestra disposici贸n mucho material, era demasiado y yo no sab铆a si cabr铆a todo en ese peque帽o espacio, pero har铆amos lo mejor posible, pero sobre esa mesa hab铆a globos de flores, corazones, letras, en fin, hab铆a de todo, luego me hice un l铆o con los globos 馃槃 pero mi t铆o lleg贸 al rescate y me ayud贸 a ubicarlos. Nos re铆amos mucho porque mi t铆o es muy gracioso, no puede hablar sin decir un chiste o hacer algo gracioso.
The cakes were freshly decorated and the truth is that they turned out beautifully and we put them on the dining room table while my uncle and I finished putting together the wall decorations.
Las tortas estaban reci茅n decoradas y la verdad es que quedaron lind铆simas y las pusimos sobre la mesa del comedor mientras mi t铆o y yo termin谩bamos de armar la decoraci贸n de la pared.
Then some cousins and my nephew (the son of one of them) joined us to help us with the decorations 馃槃 we laughed a lot with my uncle's comments and when something was wrong we made fun of ourselves. It was a really funny moment.
Luego se unieron algunas primas y mi sobrino (ele hijo de una de ellas) para ayudarnos con la decoraci贸n 馃槃 nos re铆amos un mont贸n con los comentarios de mi t铆o y cuando algo quedaba chueco nos burl谩bamos de nosotras mismas. Fue de verdad un momento muy gracioso.
And voila, this is how the decoration turned out haha 馃槃, I know it's not the best but the truth is that we didn't have that much space on that wall, in fact I think we should have chosen another much wider wall, but according to what they said supposedly it wasn't the best option because it would be in the way, so this is what we were able to achieve in that reduced space. I think it looks nice though.
Y voil谩, as铆 qued贸 la decoraci贸n jaja 馃槃, s茅 que no es la mejor pero la verdad es que no ten铆amos tanto espacio en esa pared, de hecho creo que deb铆amos haber elegido otra pared mucho m谩s amplia, pero seg煤n dijeron supuestamente no era la mejor opci贸n porque iba a estorbar, as铆 que esto es lo que pudimos lograr en ese espacio reducido. Sin embargo creo que se ve bonita.
My cousins (the birthday girls) immediately wanted to pose with their decorations, they loved it and wanted to show it off.
Mis primas (las cumplea帽eras) enseguida quisieron posar junto a su decoraci贸n, les gust贸 mucho y quer铆an presumirla.
We really had a great time as a family, we ate, we danced, we caught up with our lives, we remembered old anecdotes and of course we did photo sessions in which we had a lot of fun. What happened is that when I tried to take a selfie, the timer went off and it took too long to take the pictures, so someone was out of frame or came out with a lot of movement, in the end (the last picture) it came out properly but I couldn't stop laughing.
De verdad que pasamos un grato momento en familia, comimos, bailamos nos pusimos al d铆a con nuestras vidas, recordamos viejas an茅cdotas y desde luego hicimos sesiones de fotos en las cuales nos divertimos un mont贸n. Lo que suced铆a es que cuando yo intentaba tomar una selfie sal铆a el temporizador y se tardaba demasiado en tomar las fotos, por lo tanto alguien sal铆a fuera de cuadro o sal铆a con mucho movimiento, al final (la 煤ltima foto) s铆 sali贸 adecuadamente pero yo no paraba de re铆r.
See what I mean? It's impossible not to laugh when my uncle is present. Thank God we are a united and generally joyful family, despite the difficulties we have gone through, the hard times, the absence of grandpa and all the people we have loved so much and are no longer with us, every day we do our best to remain united and happy, celebrating every special moment, sharing laughter, hugs and blessings.
驴Ven lo que les digo? Es imposible no re铆rse cuando mi t铆o est谩 presente. Gracias a Dios somos una familia unida y por lo general alegre, a pesar de las dificultades que hemos pasado, de los momentos duros, de la ausencia del abuelo y todos los seres que hemos amado tanto y ya no est谩n con nosotros, todos los d铆as hacemos lo posible por permanecer unidos y felices, celebrando cada momento especial, compartiendo risas, abrazos y bendiciones.
When we sing happy birthday, fun is also guaranteed because, for those who don't know, in Venezuela our birthday song is different. We use the version by a band called La Billos Caracas Boys, which is an extended version of the popular song. To top it all off, there's always a family member who changes some of the lyrics to make it funnier. And finally, we all line up to give our blessings and good wishes to the birthday girls.
Cuando cantamos el cumplea帽os la diversi贸n tambi茅n est谩 garantizada porque para los que no lo saben, en Venezuela nuestra canci贸n de cumplea帽os es diferente, usamos la versi贸n de una banda llamada La Billos Caracas Boys, la cual es una versi贸n extendida de la popular canci贸n, pero para colmo nunca falta el familiar que cambie alguna parte de la letra de la canci贸n para hacerla m谩s graciosa. Y por 煤ltimo pues todos hacemos fila para darle nuestras bendiciones y buenos deseos a las cumplea帽eras
