Hi, internet folks! On Saturday, I attended a K-pop event featuring a Korean DJ I really like as a guest, so I want to tell you all about it.
Hola, gente de Internet, el sábado asisti a un evento de kpop donde iba a estar de invitado un dj coreano que me gusta mucho, asi que quiero contarles al respecto
I had a thousand ideas for a present for him, but with so much going on, I ended up giving him some Venezuelan sweets – who doesn’t like sweets? – and also a two-page letter that I wrote entirely in Korean
Yo tenía mil ideas para hacerle un regalo pero en medio de tantas cosas, terminé regalandole golosinas venezolanas ¿a quién no le gustan las golosinas? y también una carta de dos hojas que escribí en completo coreano
The venue was very well laid out and decorated; there was a K-pop merchandise corner and a DJ was keeping the atmosphere lively with K-pop music from different eras. I was particularly pleased with the event’s setting and even the lighting :3
El sitio estaba muy bien distribuido y decorado, había un rincon de merch de kpop y había un dj amenizando el momento con musica de kpop de distintas generaciones, sobre todo fui feliz con el spot del evento e incluso la iluminación :3
There were also dance cover shows, and to be honest, the lads were absolutely brilliant. There were mixed groups, all-girls groups and solo performers, and they really did a great job – it was loads of fun, and I enjoyed every single performance.
Además habían shows de dance cover y la verdad es que los chicos lo hicieron buenísimos, habían grupos mixtos, de chicas y solistas y la verdad lo hicieron muy muy bien, fue super divertido, disfruté cada una de las presentaciones
When the DJ arrived, that was obviously the best bit. He has a style where he transitions between K-pop and Latin music – or vice versa – in such a way that they almost seem like part of the same track. He also has a great rapport with the crowd and knows exactly how to get them going and draw out their excitement at the most climactic moments.
Cuando llegó el dj obviamente fue la mejor parte, él tiene un estilo en el que hace transciciones entre kpop y música latina o viceversa de una manera en la que casi parecen parte de la misma pieza, además tiene ben dominio del público y sabe perfectamente como animar o sacar la emoción del público en los momentos más climáticos
I don’t have any good photos of the performance as Luca wouldn’t stop moving lol and my phone isn’t great at capturing movement in photos; however, I did take loads of videos which I’ve been uploading to my social media, and it really is incredible. I absolutely loved his performance – he’s so sweet and kind. In fact, I gave him his present that day, and when I got home I realised I’d got a DM from him thanking me for the letter I’d written to him. And actually, at the Meet & Greet (which I’ll upload later), he mentioned it again – meaning he’d remembered me – and it was really touching; I felt so happy.
No tengo buenas fotos de la presentación ya que Luca no paraba de moverse lol y mi teléfono no es bueno capturando el movimiento en fotos, sin embargo, si hice muchos videos que he estado subiendo a mis redes sociales y que de verdad es increíble. Amé demasiado su presentación y es muy tierno y amable, de hecho ese día le di su regalo y cuando llegué a mi casa me di cuenta que tenía un DM suyo agradeciendo por la carta que le escribí y de hecho en el Meet ang Great (que subiré después) me lo volvió a decir, es decir que me recordó y fue muy conmovedor, me sentí muy feliz
