Cold and Flu season is here in force.

Right now we are in the middle of cold and flu season.
It has excelled a little early this year.

Here at my medical office we are seeing strep throat, influenza A, COVID-19 and RSV.

Typically RSV is not a big deal for older children and adults, but this year it is a bit more intense.

How to avoid getting sick

So with the upcoming Holidays and gatherings, I just wanted to remind people of a few basic steps to help avoid getting sick.

  • Don't kiss on the lips. A cheek kiss is better during this time of year.

  • Shake hands if you must but be sure to use hand sanitizer frequently.

  • Avoid touching your face as this will transfer the virus from your fingers to your face.

  • Avoid sick people

  • Get a flu shot if you are high risk.

Enjoy your time with friends and family this season; just try not to pass illness around.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Until next time,
John Novak PA-C
