One of the things I had never done during my short time as an English Teacher is going around the whole deal of decorating the classroom. There was a task left by the deceased colleague and it was about this specific thing.
Since Halloween was on the verge of the the class and in fact it is today, I had to take on the project and the students got their creativity going to finish the task.
Decorating the classroom was a lot, so we did it with the door. The idea was recreating something from a Slasher movie. So the door would have the Scary Face motif and some handprints in red. After deciding who was bringing what to the class, the students got their hands dirty and made all the work. I was there to supervise the whole paint job did not get out of hand and also clean any mess afterwards.
They worked tirelessly even after the time of the class was over. And thus the door was done. My suggesting to do this decoration was using tape under the pieces so they could be glued over the tape and removed easily once the time comes for taking off all the design.
It was a nice project. And it is also the first time I do something related to a celebration as a teacher. It was fun to watch them work.
