When I go out somewhere, I love visiting as many places as I can because you never know when you will come back. There's always a constant thought running in the back of my head whenever I miss to visit a place that I know exists. But I do get the point that most of the times its impossible to visit all the places at once and I can only hope to cover them all one day. At least in the places that I love. So this was one such occasion. I had been to Chikmagalur in the beginning of the year but this is just one of those places that I don't get tired of visiting. So in the month of April, when things started to get hot and humid in Bangalore, we decided to enjoy the cool and calm weather of the hill station.
This time, it was supposed to be a leisure trip and one to just reset the busy schedule I was in. What's better than water and cool breeze to achieve this. The first place that I went to was Hirekolale lake. This is a massive lake nestled in between the mountains. A place that's less crowded, less commercialised and less known - As perfect as it could get. We initially had plans of trekking to a waterfalls near by. But decided that this lake was too peaceful and not spending more time over here would be an injustice to this place. So I put down the waterfalls in my to-visit-next-time-i'm-here list. We ended up staying here till sundown and got to experience a beautiful sunset. Sharing the picture here from the place.

After a peaceful first day, we decided to continue on with the experience. We woke up early, just after sunrise. And the temperature must have been around 20 but it felt like it was below 15 because of the wind. So we decided to just gossip and walk around and we ended up in a stretch that could be counted as the "Dream walking path". It was cloudy but bright, cold and tall trees and the smell of eucalyptus ran in the air which was pretty therapeutic in its own way. A picture to show the beauty of this place, just after sunrise

For the rest of the day we decided to travel to this small village called Amruthapura. When I casually mentioned Belur and Halebeedu and its glorious architecture, my mom suggested this village which had similar temple but without all the fuss. As the summer heat started to sore up, we managed to find the stone temple from this village. It was beautiful indded. Not as extensive as the carvings at Belur but intricate enough to catch my undivided attention. On the plus side, the stone rooftop provided much need relief from the hot sun and as it was windy, we decided to spend some more time here just admiring the beautiful carvings and wondering how talented the artisans were. India does have a beautiful history and an enchanting story to tell. to anyone listening. Leaving a couple of pictures from the monument.

Well, after some historical expedition, it was time for water again. Yagachi backwaters made the cut to our list of places this time. There's a bunch of watersports that people can experience here. We decided to give them all a go since we had some time to spare and a little adrenaline and adventure is always fun in an outing. I must say, it proved to be an absolutely best way to end the outing.
