Sometimes, you can become part of the beautiful scene you’re trying to capture!
I was surrounded by lots of lovely green lotus leaves and old wooden boats. I wanted to take a picture to capture a little bit of the beautiful scene around me. I was looking for an unusual angle to get the perfect picture.
However, nature had other ideas!
As I got closer, my feet got stuck in the swampy mud. I did not think much of it and thought I would be able to pull out my feet easily. However, after a few moments I realised my feet were stuck in the mud up to my knees! As I tried to get out, I got stuck deeper in the mud. After only a few minutes, I was completely covered in mud. It went from a peaceful moment of taking photographs to a complete rescue mission!
Luckily, a young boy noticed what had happened. He found a long wooden stick and held one end out towards me. I grabbed onto the stick and he used all of his might to pull me out of the swamp.
When I finally got out, I looked ridiculous covered in mud. We couldn’t help but laugh! My friends and I were laughing so much, we wouldn’t have known I had been stuck in the middle of a swamp a few moments ago!
Every time I look at this picture, I can’t just see the beautiful wetland, old wooden boats and pretty lotus flowers. I can remember the whole experience of trying to get out, the boy pulling me out with a stick and the endless laughter between my friends.
I didn’t go there to create a memory, however, I created a lovely memory that will probably last a lot longer than the picture.
Sometimes the best memories come from when everything goes wrong! ❤️
