A couple of weeks ago, I decided to visit Childer's Cove to capture sunset over the sea stacks. This is a spot that I could visit countless times without getting sick of it!
Since last visiting, over 6 months ago, a crevice had become visible which I planned to use for my final image. The only problem was that the tide wasn't high enough to get a nice flow.
This led me to go into the water to get a leading line into the frame.
Although it didn't look like the sky lit up much, using the 14-24 on my full frame Nikon Z5 allowed me to include more of the sky which had some really cool cloud formations.
The rocks looked really cool with the water travelling around them. I actually got pretty wet (but not the camera) when I tried recording a phone video to show the conditions at the end of the shoot!
As you can see, the flow really makes a difference to the image, as well as being a little higher.
I think that this cave could help to frame the sea stacks really well, if I revisit when the tide is higher creating some flow. (I was in there for about 40 mins before sunset and didn't get a single wave come close to touching me!)
I'm curious to know which of teh first two is your favourite? I really can't decide!
