I've become much more fussy about dropping books when I find I'm not enjoying reading them. Once upon a time I would have seen it out to the end in every case, but I've decided life is too short for that and there are too many other books out there waiting to be read. People shouldn't feel bad about dropping a book if they aren't enjoying it. By the way, I read the first book in this series, having also watched the TV series, and enjoyed it.
