After a vacation in which a cousin spent good times with my family, I accompanied him to the bus terminal for him to take a bus to his hometown (Barquisimeto, Lara). We said goodbye and then I went to a technology center with my mother to do some errands and some purchases that we had pending to do. when we finished the shopping and everything else, it was lunch time and we approached the food fair to see that we could eat, We both decided to eat a medium pizza Margarita. A Delight! While we ate I had the great idea to ask if they were looking for employees, I told my mother and she was totally agreed. We finished eating and I went directly to ask the cashier (A Charming Lady who later became a great friend and counselor). At first she told me that it was difficult and that at the time they were not needing employees. But as soon as I turned to follow my path he took pity on me and called me: "Boy, bring your resume tomorrow, maybe we'll need an employee". In the next day I prepare my resume with the few experiences I had and I carry it, hoping for the best results. A few days later they called me to do a short interview (I sincerely thank God that despite the fact that at the time I was only 16 years old and I was underage, they did not put too many buts, They simply told me to process the corresponding permits and I could start working).
she is my great friend, and also great counselor haha
My initial plan was for my parents to help me with the payment of the engineering career and while, I saved money to pay for the pilot course. As I planned it I was doing it, I spent a few months doing an introductory course at university and also working. After completing the first two quarters of the career, I realized that I already had the money to do the theoretical course of private pilot. Without thinking twice I freeze the engineering career and I enrolled in the course.
In the introductory course of the engineering career
Here we were celebrating the birthday of our co-worker (The one in the middle). I was coming from the course
Spend 6 to 8 months doing the course, while I continued to work. I studied all morning and worked from noon to night, Then, I got some rest in my grandmother's house, since my parents' house is a little far away.
It was splendid months where I acquired a great deal of knowledge And where I saw the first glimpses of what the career was like, Especially by the stories and lived experiences of the captains who gave us classes, Also for one or another trip to the airport. In turn I had the pleasure of meeting good friends and great friends like Carlos, With whom I would later find myself. The truth after knowing about the great world of aeronautics did not feel the slightest desire to continue studying Computer Engineering, That incredible world I had liked too!
A photo of the entire course with El Capitan!
With my brother Carlos. Practicing air traffic pattern and touch and take off
Once finished the theoretical course of private pilot I did a few hours in a flight simulator and a misfortune occurred for everything he had already planned, all he was seeing was a Berlin wall being built In front of my eyes.
I could not take any photos in the simulator haha but here I leave this one that is similar
For those days there was a great devaluation of the currency in my country. Something that made practically everything increase in price in an excessive way, And the purchasing power of the population remained the same. With the same money as before I bought 50 candies now I could only buy 5. The same happened with the hours of flight that I had to pay to finish the first course. When I started the theoretical course, with a minimum wage job I could go for 1 hour of flying each month, Now I had to have about 6 to 8 minimum wage jobs, something extremely impossible. At this point in my life, I was forced to choose between the two career, or to be an engineer or to be a pilot ... What think you that I chose?...
I with my beautiful mother
I started to save all the money possible and to ask in different schools to find the one that was cheaper And so we can start making the famous flying hours. I collected money from my work plus the one my parents gave me earlier to pay me for the other career and still I could not. Whenever it was close to reaching the price, it increased again.
For a long time I worked hard in the pizzeria and also in another job that I could get in the subway of Caracas. Increasingly seeing my goals and my dreams disappear, Even occasionally had discouraging thoughts. But I never let any of them knock me down at all. As some people say, hope is the last thing that is lost. Even though everything was so dark, I still had faith in God that I could do it. That was my ray of light.
To be continue...

¡La Travesía comienza! (VOL-2)
