Hello SteemIt community.
Below is a post that I have made for friends to introduce them to Quantstamp, and also provide a way to gain POC (Proof of Care).
What do you think of it as a casual way to raise the topic?
I am happy for people to use it also, if they wanted to save time. But I'd love to know if its accurate enough, or needs some tweaking, as I'm generally new to all of this. Steemit included. Im looking forward to seeing what this community is like!!
Thanks in advance. Message is below. Cheers.
Hi guys, hope you are all going well!
This may be a little bit of a random message, but out of everyone I know, I thought that all of you would find this interesting more so than others…
Essentially I’m just giving you all a bit of info regarding an upcoming ICO (initial coin offer) for a new cryptocurrency/business called Quantstamp (QSP).
As you have probably seen with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, their value and integration into mainstream society is gathering a heap of momentum.
Over the last 6-12 months one of these crypto’s called ethereum has really started to build in reputation, as it starts to embed itself as the foundational ecosystem for decentralised application development.
By that, I mean that instead of just utilising block chain technologies to secure peer to peer exchanges of currency (like bitcoin), Ethereum uses them to create applications and other services via ‘smart contracts’.. These contracts are exactly the same as bitcoin’s blockchain technology, but are adaptable to any service instead of just securing currency exchange..
This system of smart contracts, will eventually be integrated on a vast number of business, as they provide a seamless transaction without any third parties (decentralisation), for example: voting. If the AEC (Australian Electoral Commission) wanted to digitise our electoral system they could build the system over Ethereum as its blockchain tech provides a secure platform, thus removing any need for any third party’s.
This is a very basic example, but you could find many more uses and actual examples of things with a search..
But this application brings me to my main point about Quantstamp.
The ‘smart contracts’ are made by humans and as such have imperfections, (think bugs in any operating system/program)... Therefor due to this imperfection any new ‘contract’ or code needs to be secured, audited, checked etc… as a single word can be provide a weak point that can be exploited by hackers.
This is the purpose of Quantstamp: a protocol to secure and audit smart contracts. It will essentially be the spell check/auditor for any ethereum based smart contracts/Dapps (decentralised applications).
It is this core application of security of 'smart contracts' and thus the apps, that truly exemplifies the potential of quantstamp, as it can become a core pillar of the Ethereum ecosystem.
In terms of hype and probability of success, this is a really exciting project that could be a great investment. At this stage it is in the pre sale stage and essentially this message is my way of getting a foot in the door to something pretty promising, and yours too. This presale of Quantstamp coins/tokens, rewards people who believe in their project with coin investment as a reward for helping market it. As Quantstamp try to establish a great, connected community of followers.
I know I sound a little like a salesman, so my apologies, but it is a really promising project. Have a read of their whitepaper yourselves (links below). If it interests you, follow it up or hit me up with questions if you want to know more.
Cheers guys, hopefully some food for thought.
