Greetings gardener friends I wish you are enjoying good health and God's blessing abound in your homes and have an excellent weekend; in my country we are in the school vacation period, which is perfect for various activities with the children; go to the park, the beach, clean the garden among others; cultivate the land with our own hands and eat its fruits is a great blessing, see every day as the plants grow and progressively appear flowers and then the fruits is a miracle of nature and the Creator father.
The area where I live is warm and currently because of the heat wave, the temperature is very high, due to this situation the care of the plants is more rigorous and require a little more water, this time we checked the garden and paprika plants, which mostly have fruits, The soil or "conuco" as it is called in my country, was clean and dry so it was necessary to water and add plenty of water, we also made small holes to which we put water to serve as drippers and keep the area moist or at least cool.
Paprika is a vegetable widely used in food preparation, I like to eat it sautéed, in cream or in a stew, I have tried to grow it in different colors and the one that has prospered the most is the green one, on few occasions it has been found red, I think twice and yellow has not been possible despite many attempts, I don't know if it requires a specific type of climate or soil, but I will continue until I can achieve it, I plan to take advantage of the holidays and ask my Uncle the proper procedure to grow red and yellow paprika, he has been farming for several years and I think he can provide me with the necessary information to harvest them.
How do I grow paprika?
*When buying these vegetables I make sure to leave two (2) or three (3) out of the fridge, after washing them I remove the seeds and place them on absorbent paper near the window so they receive a little sunlight, for seven ( 7 days.
*After a week, I put them in a paper bag, identify them and write the date, this allows me to know which ones I should use first when planting.
*After removing the weeds, I prepare the soil by removing the soil and adding water to soften it. This process takes approximately three (3) days.
*The next step is to add the compost and integrate it with the soil, then for several days (it can be 4 or 5) I remove the soil until there is a layer of 7 or 8 cm wide with black soil, in this way the compost is ready. land to plant the seed.
*With the help of a branch I make holes of medium depth (3 cm) in the ground, I put the seed and cover with earth without applying a lot of pressure, leaving 20 cm between each seed, so the plant will have enough space to grow.
*I water in the morning with little water and when the seedling germinates, I check that there are no pests and I increase the amount of water in the field to keep it cool, since as I previously pointed out the region is hot.
*The next thing is to check the garden periodically, water and remove the weeds until the peppers can be grown, they still need to grow, I hope to harvest them in the next few days and prepare a delicious meal with the fruit from my garden.
Blessings!
