When I was growing up as a kid I used to have a piggy bank, Well it was not really piggy bank but it was a jar in which I used to collect coins, it is basically the same thing. I am sure many of you as well used to do the same thing as well. I remember something when I was saving up for that special toy of sneakers I wanted I would search all over to see how much lose change that I could find and every week I would count the money to see how close I was to my goal. This was so much fun that knowing you can save for you own thing and that each and every quarter that you found brought you on step closer to achieving you goal and getting that what you wanted so bad.

But what I have realized today is that not many kids have what we called piggy banks, they don’t save coins as such any more. I wonder is it because we no longer teach children the value of money? This is something that we should really thing of because if kids don’t learn the value of saving money in the early stages it will become harder for them to learn later down the road. I am sure many of you still do in courage you’re your kids to save their coin and some of you probably still do save your coins as an adult, because I too am surprised sometimes to see how much I have saved just by collecting lose change here and there. This is a very good way to teach your young kids the value of money and they also learn a bit of independence when they can actually buy things for themselves.
