I keep thinking up long term schemes because I believe that's the reason why we're here. We spend all this time accumulating tokens that we hope will have more value in the future, compounding, staking, and generally participating in the crypto industry that holds so much potential.
Predicting the short term future of crypto is nearly impossible. The numbers could go in pretty much any direction in the blink of an eye.
Working with long term plans ensures that you'll be in the green, no matter where the market goes. However, you need to ensure you're in the right place to benefit from the future.
A couple of days ago, I described how compounding 20% APR for 5 years with HBD savings could turn out to be a solid investment. It's a slow burner and low risk approach to stacking your coins.
Growing your portfolio doesn't necessarily have to be slow though. When you're in the right place, things could easily switch for the better.
For me, the most important thing is ensuring that I'm invested in projects that have long term plans. Of course they also have to be projects with values and a working product with potential.
There's actually a science behind this type of growth. In the crypto market, it doesn't necessarily work like the real world but the Lindy effect still comes into the equation.
The Lindy effect basically describes a scenario where something is expected to thrive or exist for a number of years because it has thrived. It is a compounding phenomenon.
So, let's take Leofinance for example. It is a project that's probably three years old or about that range.
The Lindy effect means that as long as Leofinance as existed for three years, it will be around for another three years. That's only for right now, of course, seeing as the phenomenon compounds as Leofinance gets older.
I'm a big fan of Leofinance project and I'm invested with both my head and heart. I know we're advised to detach emotions from money but I can't help it because of my experiences in the past two years.
The Leofinance project hasn't just been my source of income, it has also been a place where I've met with numerous opportunities. It is a place where I meet so many interesting individuals and projects spread out around the world.
I believe that with @khaleelkazi at the helm of affairs, the project's long term future is secure.
The long term future of Leofinance project also cuts across all the Cub projects on the way. There's also the short form social media project in development that we call Project Blank.
Leofinance is technically a part of hive. However, Leofinance also goes beyond the shores of Hive Blockchain.
As far as Hive itself is concerned, we're almost certainly going to be huge in the coming years.
As the world continues to clamour for free speech, one of the major products that Hive offers, we'll see more growth in the platform.
At the time of writing, hive is trading side ways between 85-$1 range. That's a far cry from it's true potential and eventually, the market will catch up.
Right now, there are so many projects on the way. We have games like Ragnarok, and PsyberX worked on in the background.
Numerous projects are developing on the blockchain, they will want to ensure that Hive survives for the longest time because it is their home.
Speaking of development, Splinterlands is currently the biggest asset that we have on Hive Blockchain.
It's a game that I've invested my time and resources into. I've received my due reward for my exertion and the future still looks bright.
Associated tokens and NFT from the game have the potential to sky rocket in the future. This is even likelier when you consider the expansion and reach of the game.
In ten years time, Splinterlands investors will most likely be very happy people because your investment today will be the seed that germinates into a giant tree of money.
Ten years is a lot of time and so much can happen in that period. There will be ups and downs along the way but a project with a long term vision will always find a way to steady the ship.
In ten years time, your time on hive will certainly not be a waste. You'll be in a much better position than you are in today. All it takes is steady building, development and keeping your eye on the prize.
