Rent is one of the things that kill people's finances. As a rule of thumb, you should be able to pay your rent with minimal stress. In Nigeria, we pay rent yearly, my rule is that I should be able to conveniently raise my rent in three months.

If I was paying rent monthly, then I should be able to pay my rent within 10 days of working.
