The past year has felt like ten because it has been a series of unfortunate events piled up against the crypto market. However, in the midst of all the chaos and drama, Leofinance has stood form and LPUD is a testament to this fact.
For those who don't know, LPUD stands for Leo Power Up Day and it takes place on the 15th of every month. It started in June 2022 and has been a thing ever since then. It is a day to state Leo and for me, I think of it as a day to reflect as well.
Every LPUD comes with the added benefit of being a reminder that I've survived another month in this gruelling crypto industry. As simple as it sounds, that's actually quite huge in this day and age,
A decent chunk of the market has rage quit for one reason or the other. Scepticism is at an all-time high, and investors keep their money in their wallets.
The market is in the worst state it has ever been in the past three or four years and other than pump and dump schemes like PEPE, nothing worth noting is flourishing in the market.
Leofinance survives
Despite not having the vast wealth of projects on Ethereum network and the likes, Leofinance has thrived and continued to improve over the years. The project that just started out as a blogging front-end on Hive has become the premium location for short-form content on Hive.
Leofinance is built on the Hive blockchain with an optimised system that ensures swift interactions and transactions on the chain but that's not even the most impressive part of the project.
In the midst of all the carnage we see in exchanges and all the rage quitting of the past four years, the core of the Leofinance community has remained strong. In fact, the core of the community seems to be growing.
The Leofinance community as a whole has grown but seeing this increase in the core users of the platform is reason to be excited. The consistent growth of the core shows that Leofinance is built on a sustainable model that will be around for a long time.
It is true that Leofinance is reliant on the community managers and their mad scientists in the background to implement development but the actual running of the community is somewhat autonomous.
On a blockchain level, the project doesn't even hold the most tokens, and most importantly, engagement isn't artificial. Everyone is pulling their own weight to ensure the project grows.
Today, it may seem like we're one narrow corridor of core users that are perpetuating the existence of the project. However, what you might not notice is that the corridor is widening and the number of faces is increasing.
LPUD is a testament to all this growth and after one year, the campaign is still going strong. It is actually an indicator of the kind of project we're building and the community behind it.
