So yesterday, I decided to visit my local "pub" to have a few drinks, as a reward for surviving the week without killing myself. Staying indoors has been a mental challenge for me, and it keeps getting worse as the days go by.

For what it's worth, calling it a pub is a very loose description of the place because it is actually just an open stretch of land with a few ancient buildings. Oh, yeah, it is also referred to as a hotel but if we're being honest, people don't use those rooms for sleeping, as much as sleeping with people.

Despite the obvious shortcomings, I still enjoyed my day out in the sun, as I spent the entire afternoon until the early part of the evening chugging on my favourite Lagger.

Beer brings out the fun, even in the direst situations, and this one was anything but that. Other than my brother/friend that I went with to the bar, I also had other uninvited guests that tried to steal the gloss from an ultimately fun afternoon, relatively speaking of course.

Flies are actually commonplace in this part of Nigeria, and it is probably my least favourite part about living in this city. I've never liked these little rascals because I honestly don't know what they want, and it freaks me out when they perch on everything, maliciously spreading germs like the bastards they are.

Yesterday wasn't one of those days, so I swallowed it up and decided to make the best out of the situation by taking upclose and personal pictures of the common housefly.

The three wise men

It really doesn't matter how much you like beer, these little guys like it way more than you, and they don't take permission.

These two gentlemen above were the prime culprits, and due to their love of cheap beer, I decided to name them profanereviews@profanereviews and trumpman@trumpman. They're probably twins, separated at birth, but united by beer. Someone is probably going to make an advert with that concept, but remember you heard it here first.

At the end of the day I drank about 2.4 litres of Alcohol or four bottles in total, so it took its toll on me. I have a mild headache right now, and with no painkiller available at the moment, so I'll just soldier on until it dissipates. Have a lovely weekend.
