I was on night shift last night and fortunately finished earlier than scheduled time. I got home somewhere around 4am, got a bit over two hours of sleep and was right back to the street.
The hardest part of us actually getting out of bed. There's barely any sunlight and with the weather as cold as it is, everything in my body and soul cries out for an extra two or fifteen hours of hibernation.
My route to the bustop depends on how late I am for work. Today, I was slightly behind schedule, so I took a slightly longer walk that gets me to a bustop with more bus options to get me to work.
The winter comes with an underlying eery vibe in the atmosphere. It is without a doubt the scariest outdoor air I have experienced in my life.
At the same time, there's a certain surreal feeling about being in the situation. As scary as the moments tend to be, there's a certain "pictureesqueness" about it that compels me to take pictures.
It's almost like you can hear the still and quietness in the pictures.
It is the kind of pictures you feel, rather than just see. It feels like winter.
