Yesterday i noticed Dlive first time and as i am gamer and usually stream on twitch or you tube, thought why not, let's try.
Idea of making block-chain based streaming service is good. Very good actually, and to make it on Steemit platform is even better. I am very excited and hoping that it will only improve and become very popular.
After one day of testing it with 1-2 viewers i can say this, based on testing so far.
Configuration is quite easy, everything is intuitive. It's little strange that you have too start stream first on dlive and only then in OBS, but it's not exactly complicated thing to do.
Now thing that need to be changed or fixed, i will concentrate on this and i hope Dlive developers will not get it as negative critique. And yes i understand it's Beta and many things will change.
Dashboard
It looks fine, but guys it really should be dynamic, right now it needs to be refreshed every time if i want to check viewer numbers. i don't think this will require too much work, and it will really improve life for streamers.
Streaming servers
Now yesterday at evening it looked fine, there was almost no buffering , today morning though it was constant buffering and stream freezing, also quality of stream is really low, i have 100mb/s upload but i had to limit bitrate of stream to 2000, that means quality is like 480p, might be even worth. I don't know what has do be done to improve this but this is very important matter.
Tags
Right now when you put tags on streaming page, and post it on Steemit, they change so instead of "gaming" tag, we are getting "Dlivebroadcast-Gaming" which is kinda problem, because if we are going to stream, we need proper tags. I think this has to change in future also, i understand that platform needs own tags, but streamers also should have possability to advertise over Steemit tags.
Once more i hope Devs will not take it as negativity, i really wish your service good luck and hope it will attract more streamers. Will be participating in Beta and will try to stream every day.
