Marvellous! Interestingly though, when people talk about 'good times', I always end up in that time period. It was exceptional in infinite ways. Philosophy was omnipresent. Discussions, sessions, sit-ins, gatherings, potlucks, festivals and large events - all with a rather understandable vision: "Make Peace - Not War".

Compared to today - although not in favor of comparison per se - the 'freaks', the Hippies, or Flower-Power people never experienced boredom. There is no boredom for folks who take drugs. Some might actually take drugs in order not to get bored. ;-D No. Of course it is much more sinister and to that, the people better wake up quickly. There is a difference between 'bored' in a lockdown and being bored in jail. Whereas I also deem possible that there is no boredom in jail whatsoever. And not in a pleasant way at that.

The current has been for a long time to create a dependency to the owners' club most profitable and convenient distribution racket. Yes, Heroin is less addictive than social networking. Psychological dependency can not easily be overcome via going Cold Turkey. The need to watch the news persists long after the tv set went through the window - in a self determining way that is. For those still in the presence of a tv or social networking access point, it will be immensely difficult to overcome an involuntarily induced mental cold turkey.

Forced Meditation?

When I will die, I will do so in the sheer pleasure of knowing, that the loveliest, smartest and most loyal Creatures of the Universe were part of my contemporary brief existence.

Allow me to ask, whether "Overtaken by wonderlust..." is intentionally chosen, or more related to the 'Wanderlust' of the German speaking folks. It is however not out of all possibilities, that You did indeed talk about a 'Wonderlust' - the variant where one experiences a tremendous Lust for wonders, and those are easy to be had, or witnessed in the lands of 1000 and that one night.

And I have not even started to talk about the Dope of the Seventies!
