One of my best Twitter accounts is Splinterlands. It keeps me informed about all the important news in the ecosystem and #Hive posting events like a media challenge. In my opinion, those challenges are an incredible way of increasing the pride of being part of this community, as every player shares his/her game experience with others, allowing others to learn about everyone's successes and mistakes. For this one, I bring the last brawl report from my guild, THGaming Brawlers and I also share the result of our other 2 most competitive guilds, THgaming 1 and 2. Hope you like it!
THGaming brawl reports
As the first season containing new soulbound rewards has finished, one thing has caught my attention: the high drop rate of new summoners with conscript ability. This fact is a game changer because, for the first time, players will be rewarded summoners just for playing the game. I've managed to get 19 Lobb Lowland, a green summoner that will bring Quora to the ranked games. With these drop rates, I hope in 5-6 seasons to have a max summoner that will be able to take her to ranks, and we'll see spectacular wombo-combos with 2 Gladius in Brawls battles.
Referred to our guilds, we got the following results:
THGaming Brawlers (Tier 3) 4th place - The guild has won spoils of 60 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 3,000 Merits and 44.919 staked SPS.
THGaming 1 (Tier 1) - First place. The guild has won spoils of 21 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 1,131 Merits and 13.684 staked SPS.
THGaming 2 (Tier 1)- Third place - The guild has won spoils of 9 Crowns in the latest brawl! Also, each fully participating member was awarded 415 Merits and 10.166 staked SPS.
Profits jump higher for a 4th place in a tier-3 guild than a 1st in tier 1. We would also like to congratulate all members of THGaming 1 for winning their brawl! Keep up this hard work!
Guessing the cards that will dominate the game
First
Since new soul-bounded cards went live, Gladius cards have won much more interest from all of us. In this section, I would like to share the detail of a specific card that will be very important in top-ranked leagues as it levels up. In my previous postI talked about Krash Wanderford and how he could be kinda Chaos Agent 4.0. For this one I will talk about one of the best AD carries of the game for just two mana, Betrol Gobson (younger brother of his famous sister Katrelba):
First things first. If we take a look into this creature's stats for only 2 mana, we get tremendous value. Opportunity, poison, and bloodlust are by themselves an incredible trio. Also, 4 base attack damage, 5 speed, and 5 health are not a joke. There are tons of battles in which you need a filler for low mana and I can't imagine greater value referred to carries for just 2.
One true thing is that in 2023 all Splinterlands players we'll see how the tactical choices for a certain battle are increased and increased. There won't be a dominating faction and a counter will appear from nothingness. Every player will have to increase the absolute number of creatures to deal with all the challenges. If there's an ability that is not predicted properly can melt your army an opportunity, so Betrol will be a great tool for your kit.
At first glance, Betrol has great friends in Chaos Legion editions. Queen Mycelia brings beloved rust for all Opportunity creatures (and remember that Betrol has bloodlust). Also, Venari Scout (3mana Nature opportunity CL), will have a new friend of adventures complementing each other in taking casualties fast for just 5 mana. It looks like Nature Summoner will be the king of low mana battles opportunity armies.
If all three points are not enough for you, remember that you've got a dragon summoner. Helios Matriarch can bring another opportunity monster to the battlefield (Whelp Herder) to destroy your enemy. He is also 3 mana so for only 8 mana you would bring 3 opportunity creatures to the battlefield.
We've been told that guilds would represent an important part of the game. Brawls generate SPS rewards (remember that SPS is the governance token of the game that today has the utility of voting proposals, staked on the game offers a 24% APR, and it'splannedtoreplaceCPforrankedandrewards),andnowtheBrawlrewardswillbeplayedonranked.Can'tw8toplaylowmanaOpportunityNature/Dragonrankedonthebattlefield!
Show me the battles! - Quix takes the victory with double Bloodlust
For the first one, I bring you a battle from my guildmate @neophyte142068, a 46-mana, Scatter Shot Sneak with no Neutral. As I've said in several posts, I love Dragons, they offer a wide variety of starts and you can surprise your opponent. And from Dragons I love Quix. In my opinion, Quix is the best Chaos Legion summoner (Lux apart), and even against Lux, he has the advantage that can be played in Little Leagues matches. The board looked as follows:
One of the strengths of actual Dragon Summoner in CL is the access to a great frontline formed by Void Dragon and Carnage Titan. I love this duo as it is well-balanced against most kinds of armies. Dragon is quite beefy and offers magic resistance, and carnage titan offers a sustained DPS that destroys most tanks.
Scattershot from enemies made my friend choose beefy guyz that could sustain incoming shots. Grum and Chimney were in charge of taking this incoming fire. Also, molten ash golem made a great role.
Although our opponent chose for a boost of ranged attack and managed to take some casualties, finally the double bloodlust combo ruled the combat. You can watch the battle by yourselves... first, point to Brawlers!
Show me the battles! - Kelya's Master Class
For the second one, I bring you a master class from my friend @serge100. He faced a 14-man battle with No Ranged, Cripple, and Sniping. He performed in his head a great plan while the board looked as follows:
Both opponents performed great strategy, on Camila's side, chose an AD trio with Pelacor Bandit, Uraeus, and Isgald. Frontline was quite weak with Fiend and Stonefish. On the THGaming side, my friend assigned Cruel Sethropod for the front, build the sneak team with Pelacor and Uraeus, and set a 3 mana optimal distractor Team formed by Agent, Fiend, and Stonefish. Although my friend's attacks were weaker, the distracting team did an outstanding performance.
Sometimes we choose to go all in to maximize dagame (that was Camila's choice). My friend chose wiser assigning a good tank and, what's more important, a good distractor team with a +1 armor. Also, posion's Uraeus was the key to stopping Isgald from snowballing.
I leave you the entire battle here. The second point for THGaming Brawlers!
