Somewhere in time series: past, present, future in one day :)
It is that time of the year, already: rush, buzz, euphoria, depression, isolation, hellos and goodbyes; for every person different, but no one is indifferent to the change of calendar year, no matter how we present it to ourselves and the others.
Contemplating the past, trying to enjoy the present(s) and making plans, or just dreaming, about the future.
New Year.s Eve is just around the corner, and @mipiano asked how we are preparing for it.
My tradition for many years is happening at work not at home; around Xmas time, kids from my school have big ballet play. Well, it was like that until corona, then pause, and this year Nutcracker is happening again.
I am very glad for that, and what makes my time at work more interesting are the rehearsals for the event. They start around month and a half before the play and last until the last day before the play, growing in intensity. But atmosphere is nice, even if all of the teachers have to work more, we are very motivated, knowing that we are about to make something special. And every year is special because different kids are in the play. The (positive) tension is the highest the evening of the performance, teachers and me behind the scene, helping kids to change, put makeup, bring water and sweets, encouraging... after the curtain of the 2nd act is down, hugs, photos, tears of joy and sadness at the same time; for one more play is over, for one more year is over, for the last play in school with the 4th graders...
photos: behind the scene, no edits, saf far as I can remember
In honor of that, we are listening P.I.Tchaikovsky and watching just a piece of the play, put into different context.
The whole play can be found on YT, many versions, but my pupils are the best ;D <3
