Back at it again with another #silvergoldstackers post. This time I wanted to share some of the benefits that gold stacking could offer for those who are interested and maybe one day start their own collection.
On the photo is an 18K gold cadena necklace I've purchased way back in 2021. It's almost 6 grams in weight and has a length of 22". This is paired to the bracelet I've recently posted about and also happens to be one of my favorite pieces in my collection. You can read about it here
While gold (and silver) may not be income generating, there are multiple reasons why I strongly recommend having them in ones portfolio. Let's have a look at some of its perks.
Hedge against inflation
We all know that fiat currencies loses its purchasing power overtime due to inflation. Some national currencies has even collapsed due to hyperinflation, I've written about hyperinflation here. Gold has always been a great store of value and can protect against economic downturns as it has a solid track record of long term appreciation.
Easy Storage
Compared to cash or other assets, gold and other precious metals would require a smaller space for storage. Thousands of dollars worth of gold can be placed in a small vault. And because it takes up lesser volume, it is also easier to move around say you would need to relocate homes.
Fast liquidity
Gold can easily be pawned or sold. It can provide instant cash during times of need. Should there be emergency cases and you don't have your wallet or phone or atm with you, wearing a gold jewelry can give you access to emergency funds.
Can be easily inherited
Precious metals can stand the test of time, gold in particular is corrosion resistant and makes for great hereditary assets. As a precious metal, it can be gifted to the next generation as family heirloom and will strongly hold its value.
High demand
Gold is gold. And it is a very rare metal that cannot be produced in the earth. All gold deposits from our world came from other celestial bodies crashing down here. And since supply is finite, the demand has always been there and with the wealth brought about by emerging markets, in the demand has skyrocketed in recent years. In my years of buying gold, the price per gram has only kept going up. Better stack up more.
