I like that term "unschooling."

I could tell that my dad was not big on university education when I decided to go to university but the world was changing and the jobs that I wanted were all requiring degrees, he would later experience this BS when he applied for a job at some point in his life that he was massively over-qualified for in IT. He had been there when IT was evolving, he helped build it in a way, but because he didn't have a 4-year degree the HR of the company was simply not allowed to offer him the job. It was a bunch of crap and they knew it as well as he did. But this kind of helped him understand why I had to go to college even though I will admit that very little of what I learned there was applicable to any job that I ended up having in life.
