I don't know any gun owners who are like the meme in the first picture, that's just something that is fun to joke about. I believe that most sane people would really much rather never have to kill anyone.

I totally agree about a the better to have it and not need it. I have never had anything close to resembling danger on my property in my little suburb quiet street area but my shotgun is still within reach of my bed every night. I too hope to never use it for anything other than shooting clay pigeons

The thugs had no weapons surprisingly. I think they thought they were just going to run into the living room, take the cash my friend was counting and then run out before anyone could do anything about it. Silly plan that went wrong almost immediately.
