Moral shifts continuously, but these days it feels like the compass is pointing to isolation, not community. It's basically like human sacrifices to keep the gods' wrath at bay. Nothing new to society, but indeed a step back. Why?
Society of the spectacle. When all emotions are readily available, all experiences purchasable, it's only the next extreme that provides superficial satisfaction to that itch of the bored consumer. And then the extreme becomes normal, and the next is chased. It is capitalism again. Always needing to sell. Always needing to grow. Like a cancer.
