Luckily I never had 8h, knocking on wood... The worst was a 3h delay, unfortunately already in the plane. That was at AMS, coming back to Ecuador. When the plane finally moved, we still spend 30min driving around in the plane to another take off strip, as the closest one was overbooked or something. But KLM airlines always makes up for those things, and their service is excellent.

Do you know why the pyramid is hated by locals? The surrounding buildings don't look like artwork, either...
