Yesterday was the big day for Into Raymi, the sun festival celebrated by the indigenous Kichwa, at the Hacienda Zuleta. We went last year with a nice group, and this year the group was even bigger.
Kami came with us, too, and that's mainly why I was animated to go. Spending time as a family, even without Lily here. Ellie and Kami mostly kept to themselves while I hang out with friends. I always meet many there, as they come up from Ibarra, where I lived for a year.
It started later this time, and my friend, who works at the Hacienda, days that it's less groups every year. The tradition is falling apart. After already changing quite a bit. There was a group of older people who still were very traditional. Except the flute made out of plastic.
On our way back the sunset was amazing. We stopped three times to take pictures of Kami, who is still aspiring to be a model. Today, I'll have to send them to them - my Google space is full.
Going to get some work done today. Thank you for reading and have a great day!
