I do not find it weird at all when a girl belongs to a particular soccer club and loves soccer, I just find it intriguing as most females I know would prefer watching Barbie or anything other than soccer, some claim is boring while others claim they do not understand a thing. At first, I thought soccer games were boring but I later found it extremely entertaining that’s why people can scream when anything exciting happens.
When I was little my dad usually dressed me and my siblings in his favorite jersey, actually I loved it, I found it cool and I love how my dad was so faithful to his football club, if his club won, he would be so happy throughout that day, but if they didn't he would wear a long face. Being faithful is one treat that is associated with most football lovers, they are faithful to the core and you cannot help but wonder if they were initiated into a cult.
Are you wondering what my favorite club is? Of course the BLUES!! Chelsea for life, like we would say whenever Chelsea wins a game, “The sky is blue”. No matter how many times they have broken my heart by losing, I still choose them over every other club. I call them my Babies for life. I love them so much cause they still come through most times.
I became a huge fan of the club courtesy of my dad, yes my dad is a Chelsea die-hard fan. I love how dedicated he is to his club. Unlike now he gets really busy so I try not to miss the game so I can call him and we talk about it. Most times when other soccer clubs are playing I find it boring, but when it’s a Chelsea game, I’m in, anytime, any day! as well as my siblings. My mom doesn’t have a club that she supports, we just disturb her with our talks.
Thinking about my favorite players, I just realized that I love so many of them, Legends like Eden Hazard, Frank Lampard, John Terry, and Didier Drogba. I also have new favorites like Thiago Silver, Reece James, and Enzo Fernandez.
I love Thiago Silver because of the way he coordinates the club even at the young age of 39 and he is also a strong defender, also John Terry is a legend and a long-time captain who contributed greatly to the club during his time but my favorite of them all is Didier Drogba, He is a LEGEND, He wore the number 11 jersey.
Well, he is no longer in the club but he is still my all-time favorite. He was a leader on and off the pitch, I bet most people do not know that he single-handedly ended his country's civil war.
In 2012, during our game with Bayern, Didier Drogba last minute goal gave us an equal score line with Bayern (1-1) which led us to play a penalty shoot where we won and that was our first Champion League Cup.
He left the club to play in Galatasaray then came back and still helped us carry the EPL cup (premiere league), ever since he left the club we have not been able to fill in that number 9 position which is the striker. I must say I really love him for Chelsea.
I will forever be a Chelsea FC, even if the sky is no longer blue, I’m so sure London is blue. We Rock!
