@feelgood community. I want to tell you about "La Carioca." I haven't been there in years. I love eating fresh fish there, right by the Orinoco River, with the divine, cool breeze despite the harsh sun.
I arrived in Ciudad Bol铆var when I was very young, four years old. We lived near here in the "El Zanj贸n" neighborhood, in the city's historic center. I returned to my hometown, Caicara del Orinoco, to attend elementary school and then returned to Ciudad Bol铆var. I went back and forth until 1977, when I moved to this city permanently, got married, and established my home and family here.
During all this time, this place existed. It was different; it was more of a market, primarily selling fresh fish. In the 1970s, the Mayor built some fish stalls; I remember we called it "Mercado de la Sapoara."
In the 1990s, what you see in the photographs was built. Today, it's a very nice and organized place selling food, not just fish, but also empanadas, hot dogs, and soft drinks. It's a beautiful and touristy place to visit.
