It is a season that slows down the pace of life and encourages us to enjoy home’s quiet pleasures.
Tucked away in the core of our country home, a feeling of industriousness permeates as my mother and grandmother embark on their yearly pickle-making tradition. In the midst of alluring spices and sharp vinegar, they carefully pack jars with preserved delicacies to guarantee that we have enough supplies for winter. In the meantime, nim leaves are picked fresh from the garden and laid out to dry with their delicate scent blending in with winter’s crisp air.
Amidst this domestic symphony, our feline friends Laloo and Bhulu have found their own haven. Surrounded by the cozy warmth of our home, they laze happily and their playful activity becomes a pleasant diversion from the cold outside. It is a delight to see them play and run around, their boundless energy reflecting the happiness of simple life.
