Daughter's are considered as love children to many couple's and beliefs. Some others generally believe that daughters are their daddy's second lover and princess. Similarly, daughter's view theirs dads as their hero and become very attached to their dads.

In my part of the world, daughters are believed to be very close to their dads and these dads dote on them like crazy. Some women were even found to be competing for attention with their daughters. You'll hear things like..
*"Whatever princess wants, she will get. Then the mom will say "What about me?"
Dad will now reply "You are not a baby, leave these childish things alone"
As a daughter myself, I experienced enough doting for a long time. I was my dad's princess. I was not to be bullied, scolded or stressed. Still with all these, I still had moral education causing me to have an understanding of good and bad and to choose the good.
Believe me, daddies don't joke with their girl children. They can go to any length to provide for and protect their girl children. Do we term this as discrimination? I don't think so, because even son's are close to their mum's more than their dads except for a select few.
So in response to the prompt for this week that states..
Why do dad's mildly hate their daughter's boyfriend at first meeting but later get friendlier with time?

My first answer to this question is that the father's probably feel threatened and jealous. They assume that another man is going to enjoy all the attention from their daughters and rule their daughters hearts. Somehow, this does not settle well with the dads.
Secondly, I feel that it is as a result of overprotectiveness. Some dad's can be so overprotective that it becomes suffocating. They feel they know best (which isn't always true) and want to govern their daughters life and affairs. If peradventure, it's time for marriage, they want to also be the ones to pick out the groom for their daughters.
In their minds, the boyfriend their daughters chose were nothing more than gold diggers and heart breakers, which they can't stand. *"Talk about karma, hahaha.
My third answer is linked to the religious beliefs of such dad's coupled with their own upbringing. Some dad's consider it immoral for their daughters to say that they have a boyfriend. So they put up this hostile front when these so called boyfriends are introduced to them.

Some father's do it on purpose to send a warning to the so called boyfriend, for him not to hurt the daughter in question. This means that they want to see the guys sincerity and when they come to see and understand that the guy is serious and sincere about the relationship with their daughter, they begin to treat him as a son, banishing all forms of hostility.
To me, I refer to this as daddy drama cos I wonder why the initial hostility when these dad's could have been civil and straight forward and open about what they feel about the blooming relationship between the guy and their daughter.
They can also carry out some background checks on the young man in question and his family to ascertain if he is genuine or not.
Personally, I feel that this initial hostility is uncalled for, after all, every father now was once a boyfriend before.
Thank you all for reading.
