I find treasure all around me, every day. I find it through making people smile, through love for and being accepting of myself and I find it through an outbound kind word, deed or act of kindness. I find it in quiet moments and in silence, and through music and the written word. It's in moments spent in dim candlelit rooms, laying before an open fire with his arms around me, and in a bubble bath.

It's found in the strength of relationships, in love given and received and I find it in nature, sunny, stormy, rain or snow. The sun on my face, flowers, that sound trees make when they move in the breeze and the way sand or grass feels beneath my bare feet...there's no shortage of treasure and I love it all. I want to find it all. - Becca

I took this picture

In thinking about the #weekend-engagement writing topics this week I was attracted to the one about an enjoyable weekend activity. My answer is possibly a little different to others in that my activity is treasure hunting, but not in the way most think of it.

The treasure I seek is happiness, contentment, peace and solace.

It's about love for the special people around me, and myself, and it's laughter, passion and a deeper understanding of my thoughts and feelings. Sometimes it's emptying my mind of everything but the very moment I'm in and other times it's filling my heart and soul with the awe, wonder and splendour of life itself. There's many ways in which I do this, and most often those methods involve being with nature. It's the time I spend with nature that helps me think more clearly, more openly and honestly and it's nature than provides value.

I chose this image as the guidelines say only one is permissible and this one shows a place I often go for peace and quiet. I'm sometimes alone and sometimes not, but I always find walking along the beach relaxing. It helps me clear my head, maybe the sea air does that, and there's a beautiful feeling of serenity which I think comes from the lapping of the water upon the shore. It sounds like music to me.

I've never stopped to dig for treasure although if I was to find a buried chest of Spanish gold I'd not mind. Seriously though, the treasure, the value, comes from nature and from within myself combined with it and to me, that makes me wealthy beyond measure.
