Last weekend I decided to watch three silly movies that I enjoy, the Pitch Perfect movies. They're light hearted and not classics by any stretch of the imagination, however they're light entertainment, there's some funny moments and some really nice singing. Watching the actors singing along int he films made me think about how we sometimes label actors as simply that, however many often have other talents, like singing, and I decided to share three of them.

This actor was a complete unknown to me until my guy made me sit through The Hurt Locker (which I really liked) in which he plays an intense Staff Sergeant in a bomb squad during the Iraq war. It's a gritty performance which he backed up with similar roles such as The Town and The Bourne Legacy among others. I can't recall how I found out he sings, I think on a talk show interview I saw him do once, but he does, and I think does a pretty good job of it. Jeremy Renner
I first saw this actress in the movie True Grit (2010) and liked her intensity but it was not until I saw her in the 2017 film Pitch Perfect 3 that I realised she could sing really well. Since then I've liked her music which I think she's probably more known for than her movies. Hailee Steinfeld
I've always liked this actor; his journey has been fascinating and he's not shied away from taking on diverse roles from Sherlock Holmes to Iron Man, Gothika, and the recent Oppenheimer to name just a few. I never knew he could sing until a friend of mine loaned me a CD of his 2004 album called, The Futurist. I've heard better singers but he gets points for trying and there's passion in his songs which I appreciate and like. Robert Downey Jr
