My vision wasn't clear, the hair which swept across my face partially obscured my sight but I knew he was there; I could hear his measured breathing beside me, still asleep, and feel his hand resting on a part of me he had a habit of coming back to often - he must have placed it there in his sleep, or on purpose then fallen back to sleep. I didn't mind, I liked it there.

He needed the sleep, he's been burning the candle at both ends lately, working very hard on very little sleep, and I was reluctant to wake him. I lay for a while watching his restful face hoping he was dreaming of me before reluctantly slipping out of bed. I looked over my shoulder hoping he'd woken, planning to exit the room with a flourish and wiggle he'd enjoy before getting dressed if he was watching but he wasn't - the last few weeks had been tough and he was quite obviously exhausted.

I had plans though, a day out, and had to get moving as I knew I'd only have one single day to get a long list of things done. A quick shower, hasty breakfast and a cup of lemon tea later I was ready to go out...into my garden.

I spent the day out there, catching up with a lot of things I'd not been able to get to over the last weeks, the gardeners who read this will understand that there's always more to do, but I don't mind - my garden is my happy place and where I find peace and contentment.

A couple hours later a sleepy - completely undressed - man came out to say good morning, mostly with his hands and lips on me, and asked if I'd like breakfast. Considering it was almost lunch time I said no but suggested lunch instead. He obliged.

We spent the rest of the day out there, he managed to get dressed although I'd not have minded if he did not, and chatted, caught up on the happenings in our lives while I caught up with my gardening.

Much later, I was feeling relaxed after a, probably way to long, bubble bath and, probably, way too much body moisturiser curled up on the couch with a book and my cat. The guy was working, setting up his week and has some music playing which drifted from his office to where I sat in the lounge room. I've added a link below to one of the tracks that was playing.

I was so happy with my day, it was quite perfect as I was surrounded by the things I love. The perfect day out.
