Just wait for it, thats just the beginning. If the oil prices stay like they are or even rise further, you will see the $6 soon. And that would still be cheap for German standards. We will soon hit the €2 mark - per litre! So thats not far from $8 per gallon.
Won't be long and all the pickup truck owners in the US will cry every time they fill up. And of course it will also impact the general price level for consumers. All goods need to be transported, many things are made from oil - all that will go up in price. So the next push towards the inflation abyss.
Btw, they charge people extra for using a credit card now? Since when is that? Not too long ago you got strange looks when you payed more than $3 with cash - and now you get a discount for it?
