Believe it or not, but I have - despite being a zombie movie - watched the first movie some years ago. And the humorous side even made it somehow entertaining.
Your verdict on the second one makes it sound interesting. However, I'm always a bit sceptical when it comes to follow ups. And most times, I am right. Like with the last one I watched : "El Camino - A Breaking Bad Movie". I mean, its not really so bad, all the iconic actors from the series are in it, its well made in the typical Breaking Bad style and all. And yet, after the end you think "Well, that wasn't really neccessary".
