New Life

New life is something that always brings warmth, joy, excitement and love to our hearts. Especially when you witness the first moments of that new life.
A couple years back we had baby bunny's a couple of time, but that was nothing in comparson to having our first calf born on the homestead.
We had been expecting his birth for sometime and we all waited in anticipation for the calf's arrival.
Unfortunately we were all gone to my sons baseball game with the exception of 
Penny turned out to be an amazing mamma cow and started feeding her calf immediately.
It even took her awhile to let us around the calf.
Unfortunately Penny past away about three months later. She had gotten pneumonia and the vet couldn't clear it up.
The calf was old enough that he was already eating alfalfa and was grazing. He is very healthy and doing great!
If you have animals then eventually you and your family are going to experience death.
When Penny passed yes it was sad and the kids cried, but they also learned that life is fragile and shouldn't be taken for granted. Love the ones your with and make sure they know how much they mean to you.
None of us are promised a tomorrow.
