BEASTLY TALES
HEADED FOR FAME
Deirdre Dusseldorf had a big loaf,
No, not a large loaf of bread!
But a much larger than life head.
What are the upsides, and downsides, of that?
Well, obviously, she required a large size of hat!
The downside, just one, was immense,
If she put her head between palings of an iron fence.
Extraction may not be readily achieved,
Call the Fire Department, to be relieved!
Now here’s the rub, another downside,
In the dentist’s chair, when he says “Open Wide.”
A large head means a large jaw,
Undoubtedly with more teeth then that dentist ever saw.
This could well mean, more cavities to plug,
Which in turn requires more drilling; don’t shrug.
Drilling at the dentist could never be nice.
Maybe diligent brushing of teeth may suffice.
Probably not, and that’s a plain fact,
Due diligence, is not the way one always does act.
Deirdre had sometimes been told, “use your loaf!”
Usually by someone who looks like an oaf!
She reckoned it not to be a cardinal sin,
To be the cause to make heads spin.
Yes, to generate the most riveting looks,
Their conventional idea, as to beauty, by the books.
“Big headed” infers one to be conceited,
But a literal big head, can make one feel defeated.
Preferable, supposedly, to having a “pin head”.
And certainly preferable to one’s being dead!
So, what can we conclude from this diatribe?
Should you see a big headed person, don’t snigger and jibe.
