I love Splinterlands but the decision of the team behind the game is turning potential new players away from the game. Not too long ago the team removed the DEC reward from the Novice and Bronze III. This mean that players must move onto Bronze II to get the DEC rewards.
Fine, I get it. Bots are gaming the game and are taking rewards that should be given to active players. Actually, it's not that bad of a nerf as new players only need to add $1 or so to rent the necessary power to get to Bronze II.
Sadly, the team didn't stop there. Weeks after the 1st nerf, the team decided to nerf the lower league again. This time it affect the DEC reward in Bronze AND Silver League. How? By reducing the amount of DEC received per battle in the Bronze League and the lower Silver League.
If the previous nerf only forces player to rent and move to a higher league; the latest nerf affected all Bronze, and Silver III and Silver II players.
Why? It's because now renting isn't worth it as the renting rates are too high to make it profitable. The most that players in those league could do was break even. And if their luck is bad they might not be able to recoup the DEC they used to rent the cards.
There's still the loot chest though but even that was nerf. In the Bronze league, players could rarely get cards and would, most of the time get Credit or potions -- making the hours they use to complete the quest not worth the reward.
Oh yeah, did I mention that players in the Gold League and above had their DEC rewards increased significantly? Yeah, if you're wondering where the DEC that was taken from the Bronze and Silver League go then you got your answer...
